01. Neodymium Fishing Magnets Introduction

Magnet fishing uses a strong neodymium magnet to salvage the ferrous metal objects under the water. If you want to try grabbing something lost on the bottom of a lake, pond or river, a fishing magnet on a rope might do the trick. You can also grab the objects sunk into the deep water tank by the fishing magnet without wetting yourself. Different with other pot magnets or magnetic hooks, normally people use the fishing magnet with an eyebolt or even two: one on the top and one at the side. The eyebolt is also referred to as hanging ring. Magnet fishers use a rope to tie on the eyebolt and throw the fishing magnet into the water.

A complete fishing magnet assembly consists of 3 core parts:

• NdFeB magnetic core: Sintered neodymium disc magnet, the source of suction.
• Steel cup casing: Low-carbon steel shell wrapping the magnet, 3-layer nickel-copper-nickel electroplating / epoxy coating. Functions: Concentrate magnetic flux to working face, block stray magnetism, resist seawater/freshwater rust, buffer impact to prevent magnet cracking.
• Stainless steel eyebolt & lifting ring: M8 – M36 threaded bolt locked into countersunk hole, used to tie salvage rope.
